Hello Lovelies,

I would just like to share something with you that’s been motivating me. I just read Mark 2 and it was in the first few verses that it says that Jesus was in a house, and that in that house and surroundings were full of people who wanted to be with and listen to Jesus. Meanwhile, some friends and a paralytic appear who, because they don’t have space to reach Jesus due to the large crowd, go to the second floor/roof of the house and make a hole in the ceiling to be able to make the paralyzed friend go down to where Jesus was.

What I thought of here were 2 things:

1. When it is within our power to bring people to Jesus who cannot do it alone at some point for whatever reason, then we must be like these friends, who carry that person and bring him or her, in the most “out of the box”, “breaking limits” way to bring that person, that friend, to Jesus. The crowd, which represents a situation, a difficulty, a blockade will not and cannot be stronger than our determination to bring the person close to Jesus. This does not happen only when the person does not know Jesus. But when he knows Jesus and still needs support and an extended hand, a word of encouragement, friendship and brotherhood needs to be put into action.

2. Faith put into action or practice = act of God. Faith led friends to do everything so that their paralytic friend was healed. The actions of the friends moved Jesus — verse 5: “Seeing their faith…” (HCSB). In the book of Matthew, there is a lot of the idea of ​​cause and effect in the miracles of Jesus. Jesus almost always notices the faith of the person to whom He is going to perform the miracle as the reason for making the miracle happen. Faith put into action or practice = act of God.

Let’s put our faith in concrete actions and let’s see God act.

Só para partilhar convosco algo que me está a motivar. Acabei de ler Marcos 2 e estava nos primeiros versículos que falam que Jesus estava numa casa e que essa casa e arredores estava cheia de pessoas que queriam estar com e ouvir Jesus. Entretanto surgem uns amigos e um paralítico que, por não terem espaço para chegar até Jesus devido à grande multidão, vão ao segundo andar/telhado da casa e fazem um buraco no teto para poder fazer descer o amigo paralítico até onde estava Jesus.

O que pensei aqui foram 2 coisas:

1. Quando está ao nosso alcance levar pessoas a Jesus que não o conseguem fazer sozinhas em algum momento por qualquer razão, então devemos ser como estes amigos: que carregam essa pessoa e a trazem, da forma mais “fora da caixa”, “partindo tetos” para fazer chegar essa pessoa, esse amigo/a, a Jesus. A multidão, que representa uma situação, uma dificuldade, um bloqueio não será nem pode ser mais forte que a nossa determinação em fazer chegar a pessoa perto de Jesus. Isto não acontece só e apenas quando a pessoa não conhece Jesus, mas quando conhece Jesus e ainda assim precisa de ser suportada e de uma mão estendida, de uma palavra de ânimo, de uma amizade e irmandade posta em ação.

2. A fé colocada em ação ou prática = agir de Deus. A fé levou a que os amigos fizessem de tudo para que o paralítico seu amigo fosse curado. As ações dos amigos comoveram Jesus — versículo 5: “vendo a fé de que davam provas…” (OL). No livro de Mateus, há muito a ideia de causa e efeito nos milagres de Jesus. Quase sempre Jesus constata a fé da pessoa a quem vai fazer o milagre como razão para fazer o milagre acontecer. A fé colocada em ação ou prática = agir de Deus.

Vamos colocar a nossa fé em ações concretas e vamos ver o agir de Deus.
