“Thank You Abba Father for not giving up on me.”
The times I’ve prayed that prayer. And recently more often.
Today I saw the movie Bob Marley: One Love. And it’s beautiful. I thought I would cry, but in the end I did not. I didn’t think God would speak with me through the movie, but in the end, He did. It’s good not to have expectations sometimes, maybe even never. Without expectations I just go with the flow. I allow the stream of water to take me and bless me along the way whenever the way allows me to.
“What Jah bless, no man can curse.” That’s what Rita told Bob when he was down after he found out he had cancer. It was about the purpose that God gave him and blessed him with. That, is what no man can curse. No man can touch. Take away or remove. No man can burn, ruin or taint. What God has blessed, what God has given, no man can take and no man can curse.
Romans 11:29 [HCSB] — “since God’s gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable.”
Romans 11:29 [KJV] — “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”
Romans 11:29 [MSG] — “God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty—never canceled, never rescinded.”
Romans 11:29 [NLT] — “For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.”
Romanonan 11:29 [BPK13] — “Pues Dios no ta tuma bèk loke El a duna, ni E no ta kambia di idea tokante esnan ku El a yama.”
Even God Himself won’t take it back. He won’t change His mind. He won’t give up.
All this time I have been thanking God for not giving up on me, but truly I should have been thanking Him for giving me a calling, a purpose, gracious gifts and many blessings. Because it’s not by my works that God invests in me, calls me or believes in me. It’s because of what He has planted in me. Because of the way He has created me. With a unique and beautiful life made specifically for me. It’s because of His works and Who He is: the God Who keeps His word.
Isaiah 55:11 [HCSB] — “so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”
Romans 11:29 [AMPC] — “For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]”
