Here comes Tarynn. The girl whose name dances on the same rhythm as mine. Love her name, Tarynn. And I also love these words that she wrote, on once again a perfect timing for me to read and remind myself of. She lives on Curaçao and was brought to us by Kemuel for her first but hopefully not last Write-It-Down (WID) Guest Post. Enjoy and be encouraged reading her piece.

Beyond The Fear

Heavy tears run down my face
You catch them and remind me that
there’s peace in your warm embrace.
I would’ve been defeated by fear
if it wasn’t for your redemption.
Now I try to take the steps you ordered
even when they are beyond my comprehension.

Heavenly Father, be with me always.
Transform my anxious thoughts
into the thoughts you have towards me.
And in the morning before I open my eyes
remind me Whose I am.
Today, tomorrow
and all the days of my life.

Dear reader,
I’m very grateful to be this week’s guest writer. And I’d love to take this opportunity to share a little testimony with you, hoping it will inspire and fuel you into more greatness.

A piece of my testimony 🕊
At the beginning of 2021 I asked God what the main lesson is that He wants to teach me this year; I asked Him for my special word of the year. After a couple of days of praying and meditating in His word, it became clear to me that what God wanted to teach me this year was to ‘Not Fear’. But as the months went by, I started to feel a little confused because I couldn’t understand what the huge mystery is that I am fearing.

I think we can all agree that we’ve felt fear before. It’s a feeling that we as human beings dislike, because it usually paralyzes us from doing the things we want to do. In most cases it leaves us feeling defeated, controlled or stuck to move forward.

Recently, God revealed the mystery to me. In other words, what I am fearing suddenly became clear to me. To be honest with you, I’d like to move past the fear, yet I’m aware that most things in life require a process, and that includes ‘overcoming our fears’ as a part of our healing journey.

Our healing journey is not always a walk in the park. As we grow we learn more about who we are and about the bruises we’ve been unconsciously walking with throughout life. What’s important in our healing journey is to remember that our bruises do not define our worth. Because our worth is defined by God. It’s also important to remember that God’s grace is sufficient to heal us and that our Heavenly Father won’t forsake us. He will carry us, heal us and in our brokenness still call us ‘His’.

Growing up I’ve experienced a lot of fear to just exist in this world and be the person who God called me to be. I also feared failing in the most smallest forms. I couldn’t understand that I only have to please God, and that the worry of what other people think about me is a weight that God did not instruct me to carry. I couldn’t understand that by walking with Jesus I am never really failing. Growing up, it has been difficult for me to understand the concept of ‘being free’; the concept of walking freely and confidently as the person who God calls me to be and in the purpose He has for me.

If you’re someone who is experiencing or has experienced the same as me, I am here to tell you that you still have time to understand what it means to be free; to live in the true freedom you find in Jesus Christ.

God loves us unconditionally and therefore sent His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Because of God’s sacrifice, we can receive the beautiful gift of salvation and freedom from death and sin. By receiving the son, we’re receiving freedom. And in freedom there’s no condemnation. By receiving the son, we’re also receiving the power to be the person who God calls us to be and to walk in our purpose here on earth.

John 8:36 – So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

Dear reader, “be free”.
Recently I received these powerful words from a person who’s very dear to me. They were honestly a refreshment to my soul. It’s refreshing when you remember that your God-given identity and purpose are greater than the fears you confront and your bruises from the past. By remembering and standing still on this truth, you’re leading your mind to the freedom God intends for you to have. God has given you the power to overcome your obstacles. All you need is the faith to believe it.

With my testimony I want to encourage you and remind you that: the person God called you to be, and your purpose, they exist beyond your fears and limitations. What I mean by this is that all God needs is your submission to Him for His purpose for your life to be fulfilled. No other factor can stop the plan that your Heavenly Father has for you. So next time you feel like your fears and limitations are getting in your and your purpose’s way, know that God’s purpose for your life will prevail no matter what your circumstance is.

Courageous soul,
Next time you’re feeling bound by fear, know that God has set you free and that He didn’t give you a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind.❤️

– With love,
Tarynn
