Whether it’s love, money, fame, experiences, adrenaline, the validation of people, purpose, yourself, regardless of what it is… we are all living for something.

If we stand still on this thought, we’ll realize that what we’re living for is actually what our heart is governed by. Perhaps it’s not something we consciously choose; to control our heart, but with time it became what we put all our time and efforts in.

God has been speaking to me about this matter recently, and I would humbly like to take a moment to share with you the wisdom I received from The King on this matter.

While we may be occupying our time and filling our hearts with the things of the world, there is one truth that remains: The truth that the world and everything in it are temporary.

Dear reader, it is not to say that because everything is temporary, therefore we should live like nothing matters and like nothing will last. It is exactly why it truly matters to live our life intentionally and live for what truly matters. It is exactly why it is important to fill our hearts and occupy our time with what does last.

If you look around you, you see that time and time again God reveals Himself to us. Whether it’s through the mountains, oceans, skies, stars, and the wisdom that man has. Also, one of my favorites: unexplainable yet breathtaking occurrences.

Colossians 1:16 – For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him.

The same God that created all of which we admire is the God that tells us through His word that whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for God’s sake will find it. He asks us: “what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul?” God intends to make us aware that our soul is worth more than the whole wide world. He intends to encourage us to choose the safety of our soul over the fleeting things the world offers us. For we are souls and have a body; a fleeting body and an eternal soul. Let me let you in on a ‘not so secret’ secret: our soul is safe when Jesus is its personal Lord and Savior.

Dear one, what will last in the end is our soul. And what matters in this life is to love, to live for God, and serve our neighbor, but most importantly to have a personal relationship with the Creator of all things, because from it all the other things flow.

We may worry about the latest trends, fastest ways to grow assets, the likes, follows and exposure, our knowledge, beauty, healing, passion, and talents, you can name it. Yet if we don’t surrender our life here on earth to Jesus, as souls we would be missing out on eternity with God. Where we will spend our eternity is determined by who we choose to surrender our heart, mind, and soul to today.

The enemy (Satan) has many souls deceived, stimulating them to focus on short-term happiness instead of eternal satisfaction and safety. But, you have the chance to choose if you will surrender your life to Jesus and consequently receive the access to spend eternity with God.

John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Jesus is your key to eternal life with God. God gives you the space to choose whether you will take the key or leave it. Because though He loves you unconditionally, He will not force you to take it. It’s your choice and yours alone.

Dear reader, God doesn’t ask you to have your life together before you come to Him, He asks you to come with all your mess and trust that He can shower you with His love and grace. He wants to meet you where you are and transform you into a new creation. God loves you so much He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. Jesus suffered in our place; He carried the punishment for our sins so we can receive the gift of salvation and everlasting life with God once we repent from our sins and turn to God.

There’s everlasting soul insurance that God wants to give you for free; security that you’ll be in heaven with Him. You can only receive this insurance by receiving His son Jesus in your life; allowing Him to govern your heart.

John 1:12 – But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.

Now, you may have wondered why I choose to share this message with you when I could’ve chosen a hundred other topics to write about.

Dear soul, I wanted to remind you of how much your soul is worth. And I wanted you to stand still on what you’re currently truly living for because it matters.

If you ask me, I’ve tasted and seen the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord during many life seasons in which I struggled with fear, isolation, insecurity, and the feeling of emptiness coming from the passing of my mom from a very young age. In the past I lived life for all the wrong reasons and failed miserably, because those things couldn’t suffice or give me true security. All along God was calling me to fix my eyes only on Him, but I didn’t take His call seriously. Now I find true security and fulfillment only in God and based on my life’s experiences I learned that nothing in the world will ever suffice the emptiness we sometimes feel on the inside. Because that emptiness was created for us to fill it with Jesus.

Dear reader, if you would like to receive Jesus in your heart and surrender your life to Him today,
repeat the following prayer:

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept You out of my life.
I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself.
I ask You to forgive me of all the sins I committed in the past.
No longer will I close the door when I hear You knocking.
By faith I gratefully receive Your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth.
I believe You are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank You for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life.
I believe Your words are true.
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Brave soul, no earthly insurance can cover our soul.

From now on, what/who will you choose to live for?
